MIRI: A total of 335 police personnel, former policemen and retirees from the Sarawak Contingent Police were awarded the Pingat Jasa Pahlawan Negara (PJPN).
The PJPN Award Ceremony Series 2/2022 Sarawak Contingent was held at the Imperial Hotel on Thursday (July 14).
Of the 335 recipients, 185 of the recipients are officers and personnel in service with the contingent and 150 are former policemen and retirees from the contingent.
Among active personnel who received the PJPN medals were Supt Parum Noit, Supt Saga Chunggat and.Deputy Supt Chua Su Huat.
Overall, this brings the total to 832 active personnel who have received the medals in previous series, and 87 of them have yet to receive the medals.
For retirees/former policemen category, among those who have received the medals were Supt Melay Tingom, Deputy Supt Wong Yok Tak and Deputy Supt Cluny Blawan and others as well.
All in all, a total of 965 retirees/former policemen have received the PJPN medals, while a total of 3,355 of them have yet to receive the medals.
