39 sprayer tanks stolen in break-in recovered

MIRI: Thirty-nine portable sprayer tanks were recovered by the police last Friday afternoon following the arrest of eight suspects 12 days ago.

The suspects were initially detained by the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for their involvement in a break-in at a bird’s nest farms in Bintulu, Sibu and here during raids conducted and April 29 and 30.

The seized sprayer tanks are estimated to worth RM7,000.

Miri city police ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted yesterday confirmed that all the spray tanks were recovered and taken from a hardware store in Bandar Baru Permyjaya here on Friday (May 10) during a raid conducted at 12.10pm.

“The proprietor of the hardware store aged 51 has also been detained to assist our probe into the case,” Lim said.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreak-in.
