KUCHING: A total of 120 preschoolers from 3QMRC Kindergarten donated RM4,000 to Hope Place Kuching recently.

Hope Place said the donation was made in conjunction with a recent charity event organised by the kindergarten.

“The pupils are from 3QMRC Kindergarten branches in Stutong, Sekama, Kuching City Mall and Siburan.

“For the fund-raising programme, the pupils collected funds from their own savings for a week then dropped their collection into collection boxes.

“The little preschoolers even made the effort to make their own piggy bank for their collection,” Hope Place said.

The one-week charity event was concluded with an awareness talk by Hope Place’s founder through an online video meeting.

Meanwhile, Julia Chan, a member of the organising committee from 3QMRC Kindergarten said the charity event aims to teach the children on the importance of caring for the community.

“This is the third year in which we have collaborated with Hope Place. This is an annual event where we aim to teach the children to care for the community from a young age,” she said.
