SIBU: Concerned for the frontliners, Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing donated 4,000 pieces of face masks to the police here on Saturday.

Handing over the donation yesterday was Tiong’s representative, Bawang Assan PDP Youth chief councillor Joshua Ting.

The simple ceremony was held at the Sibu district police headquarters where the district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit received the donation.

Also present were PDP vice-president councillor Teo Boon Siew, PDP treasurer general councillor Hua Hua Sing and PDP deputy treasurer Datuk Seri Lau Keung Chai.

Joshua said the party was deeply concerned about the police working hard in carrying out their duties under the movement control order (MCO).

He said that as a frontliner, the police should be honoured and appreciated for their sacrifices in curbing the spread of Covid-19.

“Representing our party’s president, we express our deepest gratitude to the police for always ensuring the smooth running and compliance of the MCO among the public.”
