4,000 Unimas graduates to receive scroll

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) will roll out 4,000 graduates during its convocation in October this year.

Its vice chancellor Professor Datuk Kadim Suaidi said they are among the current crop of 16,000 students at the university.

Prof Kadim said this when briefing the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail who visited the university’s campus here yesterday.

“We are truly honoured by the visit of Tuanku Syed Faizuddin and his entourage to the campus,” Kadim said.

Sharing the progress of Unimas since its establishment in December, 1992 as the eighth public university in the country, Kadim said it has produced 44,000 graduates in various disciplines to date.

The royal visitor toured the university’s Anatomy and Pathology Museum at the Faculty of Medicine and Health.

Clad in green polo T-shirt, His Royal Highness spent an hour touring the museum which showcases about 500 human wax specimens after signing the faculty’s visitor log book.

The Crown Prince also visited the Chancellory building in the campus and planted a ‘Bucida Molineti’ tree at the campus to commemorate his visit.
