SIBU: A total of 113 members of the 9th Infantry Brigade of the Malaysian Armed Forces here and members of the public participated in the 9th Infantry Brigade Blood Donation Programme held at the BISONTE Hallway, in front of the Military Cooperative and Cabeijo Restaurant here, yesterday.

The blood donation programme was held in collaboration with Sibu Hospital’s Blood Bank Unit to replenish blood supply in the blood bank of Sibu Hospital. It was also held in conjunction with the 85th anniversary celebration of the Malaysian Armed Forces.

The programme started from 9 am to 2pm.

Sixty-two pints of blood were collected during the programme.

Also present at the event was 9th Infantry Brigade Chief of Staff, Lieutenant Colonel Jauhari Talib who also officiated at the programme with the symbolic handing over of blood packs collected to the Officer In Charge of Sibu Hospital Blood Bank, Dr Lim Chuan Lian.

Other activities held during the programme were health screening and dental treatment by 803 RSAT and 624 PGAT.
