KUCHING: A total of 76 participants received their Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) and Accreditation of Prior Achievement (PPT) Certificate for 2016 from Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), yesterday.
According to Acting Director of State Kemas, Dayang Monalizawati Abang Ismail, who represented Director of Kemas Malaysia, Dato Amiruddin Ariffin, they are targeting about 50 per cent of the participants to start their entrepreneurship journey and become successful through the programme.
“It has helped the youth and also housewives to stand on their own by improving their skills, which will in turn produce successful entrepreneurs in the future,” said Dayang when officiating at the state-level presentation of SKM-PPT 2016 certificates at Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) in Jalan Bako here, yesterday.
She added that the programme provided an opportunity for new entrepreneurs to get their skills recognised without the need to go through full time courses.
Dayang also noted that the programme is also organised to strengthen and promote the 11th Malaysia Plan (11 MP).
“It is in line with the national 11 MP including in Sarawak,” she said.
The one day programme organised by State Kemas offered three categories for the certificate namely making women clothing (Level 1), bread making category (Level 2) and food production and preparation (Level 2).
