91 children attend ‘Captain Marvel’ charity screening

KUCHING: Ninety one children chanted “We are Superheroes!” during the charity screening of the new Marvel movie “Captain Marvel” at TGV Cinema, Vivacity here today.

The event, known as “Marvel-lous”, was organised by the Rotary Club of Kuching, OCBC Bank Kuching Branch, Lodge International Interact Club and Unimas Rotaract Club.

The children who were treated to the charity screening of the movie came from Breakthrough, Perkata and Baiturrahmah.

Present were organising chairperson Ashley Pan, President of Rotary Club of Kuching, Nicholas Hon, OCBC Senior Manager Jessie Lim and Assistant Governor of the Rotary Club of Kuching Wilson Tan.

The sponsors included BorneoTalk, Cats FM, Beam Event Management, Nando’s, Vivacity, Kuching, Wowsome Photo Booth, Taka Cake House and Vivacity Megamall.

It is learned proceeds from the charity screening will be channelled back to the children’s organisations.

Rotary Club of Kuching, formed in 1936, is the oldest Rotary Club in Sarawak and has been actively partnering with OCBC on its Corporate Social Responsibility (SCR) initiatives to impact the lives of communities in Sarawak.

In support of Pink and Teal EmpowHer, Reach, Perkata  and Breakthrough, there are open exhibition booths located at Atrium E, Ground Floor of the mall starting March 9 until March 10   showcasing the work  of Breakthrough Network Berhad, Perkata and Kampung Segong.
