Spreading the word on drugs via interactive game stations

KUCHING: The Anti-Drug Hero Educational and Game Programme organised by the Kuching Bodhi Counselling Centre in collaboration with Learning Hub by Hope Place will take place from May 27 to 29 here.

According to Kuching Bodhi Counselling Centre, there will be an anti-drugs exhibition called Anti-Drugs Hero Starter Town on sharing knowledge about the type of classes of common drug abuse, myths, and facts about drugs, drug use mechanisms and their side effects on the body.

“Officers from Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department Malaysia and National Anti-Drugs Agency will be there to share their latest findings and answer queries from the public.

“Besides the education exhibition, there will be amusing interactive game stations called ‘Hero or Heroin?’ which is designed to help the public especially teenagers to better understand drugs.

“Some of the game stations include flip and match cards, drugs fact challenges, transport the pong, guess the symptoms as well as mega snake and ladder challenges awaiting participants,” it said in a statement on Tuesday (May 24).

It added that the programme which will be held at Level 1, Exhibition Hall, of La Promenade Hall, is free and open to the public with education exhibition and game stations available daily.

On Saturday (May 28), there will be two sessions of Expert Sharing whereby the experts will give input and knowledge on drug prevention.
“The morning session at 11am will be conducted by ACP Mustafa Kamal Gani Abdullah while the session in the afternoon at 3pm will be conducted by anti-drugs speaker Chong Yoon Kong,” it said.

Meanwhile on Sunday (May 29), there will be two sessions of Human Library where the public can read through the human books’ life journey.
“The books available to read are Drugs Addiction Survivors by Terry Bong and Chong,” it added.
