KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Supreme Council met yesterday morning at the party’s headquarters at Jalan Bako here to discuss the implementation of its agenda for this year.

The meeting was chaired by PBB president and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“Thank you to the Sarawak people for their overwhelming support on the launch of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) recently.

“Many had requested to promote the GPS logo and they welcomed warmly the nine main policies of the coalition,” he told a press conference after the meeting.

It is learned that the meeting also discussed   the economic plan which had been implemented in the state under Budget 2019.

“Up to date, our plan is proceeding smoothly. The budget will continue until 2020, the last year of the 11th Malaysia Plan.

“We also will roll out our basic infrastructure projects for the rural communities, especially those related to water and electricity supply,” said Abang Johari.

He added that the society also received well the one-off incentive of RM1,000 for every newborn Sarawakians this year and the subsidy for students’ flight tickets for them to return to their hometowns during the festive seasons.

“PBB will continue to look after the welfare of our society because it is our government policy to assist our people.

“We were also updated by the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) steering committee that there are four main agreements namely on immigration autonomy, land code, boundary and state revenue right which cannot be discussed,” he stated.
