KUCHING: The title ‘Father of Innovation and Transformation Sarawak’ granted to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is in tune with his aspirations to lead Sarawak towards development and progress through political stability.
In congratulating Abang Johari in conjunction with his sixth year anniversary which falls tomorrow (Jan 13), Federal Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the political stability has enabled the people of Sarawak to enjoy various initiatives and assistance for a more comfortable life and secured socio-economic future.
“Congratulations to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg who celebrates his sixth anniversary in leading the Sarawak government.
“I pray that Datuk Patinggi continues to be given good health and long life to continue to lead Sarawak in a better direction,” said the Santubong MP in a Facebook post, today (Jan 12).
Abang Johari took office on Jan 13, 2017.
The office was known as Chief Minister of Sarawak before an amendment to the state constitution regarding the matter was successfully passed on Feb 15, 2022, renaming the post to ‘Premier’.
The constitutional amendment was gazetted and came into effect on March 1, 2022.
