KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from three trade unions at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya here yesterday.

The unions are the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDNM), and Social Security Organisation (SOCSO).

The Information Department in a statement said the courtesy call was led by the president of the Sarawak Internal Revenue Service Workers’ Union (SERU) Mohamad Abdul Manaf Ismawi.

“When met by the media, Abdul Manaf informed that the purpose of the visit was to provide support and cooperation from the three trade unions to the state government,” added the statement.

Among the issues discussed was helping the state government with tax collection and SOCSO cooperation in terms of activities at the state level.

Also discussed was the regional allowance raised by the EPF for officials appointed in 2008 and beyond who have been denied their regional allowance.
