KUCHING: The policies and wisdom of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has led to Sarawak becoming an envy of the state’s political adversaries.

In stressing this, Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki said the Premier has been able to transform Sarawak, guaranteeing its economic prosperity, ensuring the politics are stable and unite the people.

“We live in a time where the country is moving forward and we are in an era where Sarawak is economically prosperous, stable and united.

“People are ‘jealous’, a good kind of jealousy with the way Sarawak does things, and our leaders are admired to the point where old foes have now become friends,” he said.

Ibrahim was officiating at an Aidilfitri gathering at Dewan Anak Seni Kampung Bandarsah last night (Apr 27).

“Our state leaders are not shallow. Like our Premier, he is wise, innovative, creative, resourceful and the way he increased the state’s income was done differently.

“Those that used to be against us are no more, they are now part of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS). That party, (opposition party) is now defunct and is part of GPS already,” he said, referring to the recently dissolved Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).

With the opposition party now dissolved, Ibrahim said the state leaders can now put their attention towards improving the economy and draft new policies to help the people.

Earlier, Ibrahim stressed for unity among the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) members and for Sarawak to continue to remain united.

“Sarawak is a harmonious state with a strong sense of unity, in Satok here, we can communicate and come to an agreement for the sake of ‘Satok for all, all for Satok,” he said.
