MUKAH: AK Sport Mukah team representing Mukah Division emerged champions of the Mukah Badminton Team Closed Champion series 1/2017 organised by Oya Badminton Club (KBO) at the Oya community hall recently.
A total of 12 teams took part in the two-day tournament which was officiated by Dalat Assemblywoman, Datuk Fatimah Abdullah.
In the final, AK Sport Mukah beat Kaki Badminton Mukah (KBM) team 2-0 to win the title.
With the victory, AK Sport Mukah took home a cash prize of RM700, a trophy and medals while KBM received a cash prize of RM500, a trophy and medals.
Joint third KBO A and AK Sport PSKPP, each received a cash prize of RM200, a trophy and medals.
According to the chairman of the organizing committee, Jefry Spawi, the championship aimed to assemble together all players from around the Mukah to enhance ties among the players.
Minister of Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing, Datuk Fatimah Abdullah gave away the prizes.
