KUCHING: Following a call received at 8.52 pm on Sunday relating to a missing person report lodged at 2pm Bintangor BOMBA dispatched three personnel led by PBK I Hasman bin Bakar to join a search and rescue (SAR) team to look for the missing person identified as Gundok Anak Malong, 80, of Rumah Juntan, Sg Pasi, Ulu Meradong, Bintangor.
He son said that when he returned home (Rumah Juntan) on Sunday at 2pm he discovered that his mother was not at home. The last time he saw his mother was on Saturday around 11am before he left for Sibu.
The complainant said he and the longhouse residents then immediately launched a search and rescue (SAR) operation to look for his mother.
The SAR team searched the orchard areas, jungle and surrounding areas of the longhouse but failed to find the missing woman.
Yesterday, the SAR operation continued for the second day but the woman was still not found.
The SAR operation continues today.
