Al-Quran centre for Muslims soon

KUCHING: Sarawak will be establishing the Al-Quran and Hadith Development Centre for Muslims to study the Al-Quran in depth.

Sarawak Islamic Council (SIC) president Datuk Misnu Taha said that this was one of the initiatives of the SIC to provide a better environment for  Muslims.

“Under the new structure, our Quran teachers will be able to teach the community about the Quran.

“All Quran related activities, such as the Quran exhibition, training for the qari (male reciter) and qariah (female reciter), and many more will be held here.

“I hope that this centre will become a reality soon and serves as a reminder for Muslims to always study the Quran,” he said.

He said this during a  courtesy call by the Sarawak representatives for the 2023 National-level Al-Quran Tilawah (recital) and Hafazan (memorisation) courtesy  at Majma Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzan Shah building yesterday (May 26).

Five Sarawakians will be representing the state in the competition which will be held at Arena Butterworth in Pulau Pinang on June 11 to 16,  2023.

They are Hadi Mohd Shakawi and Nur Syakura Musa for the qari dan qariah category in Tilawah Al-Quran respectively while the Hafazan event will be participated byMuhammad Nadjat Abdul Rahman (Juzuk 1-10), Siti Asma Adenan (Juzul 1-10) and Nurul Izzah Mukhali (Juzul 1-20).
