Among these areas were Jugir, Lipat Illi, Lipat Ulu, Lipat Asal, Kejemut, Tembong, Tabut 1, Tabut 2 and Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tabut.

The assistance in the form of basic food was also handed over by Betong PKMB which was sent by APM Betong District using boats from Sunday to yesterday.

Desem when asked to comment said the situation was caused by the water level from upstream of Batang Skrang which experienced so heavy rainfall over several days that had caused the floods causing water to spill into many areas.

He advised the public if they were aware that the water was rising and dangerous to immediately contact the responsible parties.

They were also advised  to monitor the movement and activities of their children and to refrain them from playing in the floods.

Up to 4.00 pm yesterday, they were some areas that were still receiving rain and the APM with other agencies continued to monitor the situation over time..
