She said that in addition to providing training, the participants of the programme are also provided with equipment kits as initial support to facilitate the start of their planned businesses.

“Therefore, there are five sectors focused on through the Quick Win skills training programme, namely sewing, cooking, personal grooming, handicrafts, and computers,” she said.

She said this during a press conference after officiating at the Knowledge Discourse Programme: My Inspirational Women (Program Wacana Ilmu – Wanita Inspirasiku or WINS) at the Summer Shopping Mall here today.

“We provide a lot of information and exposure through activities such as dialogue sessions with icons, entrepreneurship seminars, exhibitions, cooking demonstrations, and more to enhance skills and provide opportunities for these entrepreneurs,” she said.

WINS 2023, organised by KEMAS Sarawak with the theme “Rural Women to the Global Stage,” was attended by 300 participants from KEMAS Skills Classes, Quick Win entrepreneurs, Short-Term Skills Course participants, Village Economic Assistance Programme (BEK) participants, and Income Enhancement Programme (PPP) participants.

The programme is expected to have a significant impact on potential participants who have skills and wish to increase their income in the fields of cooking, crafts, and sewing, particularly.

Furthermore, it will enhance the participants’ skills and knowledge in the sewing industry according to current trends and fashion.

Additionally, participants will be able to promote their skilled products to the wider community with the encouragement of KEMAS.
