SARAWAK Public Works Department (JKR) will conduct a study on the proposal for an alternative road from Jalan Kilang to Jalan Janting and submit it to the state government for consideration under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP).
Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and Ports Development, Datuk Julaihi Narawi, said this in response to Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing (SUPP-Meradong) yesterday (Nov 9).
On the scope of works and estimated cost for the proposed alternative road, he said the project would cover about 1km of road.
“The cost is estimated to be about RM8 million,” he added.
