SIBUTI: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) needs a comprehensive victory in the 15th general election (GE15) so that Sarawak’s voice is heard in Parliament.

Therefore, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said full support from Sarawakians was needed to ensure this.

“We need many voices from Sarawak. That is why we send 31 MPs from Sarawak.

“With 31 MPs from Sarawak in Kuala Lumpur, we can determine the form of the federal government, who should be Prime Minister, and which MP from Sarawak is appointed as Minister of Malaysia and Deputy Minister,” said the Sarawak Legislative Assembly speaker.

He said this during the Santai Bersama Pemimpin programme at Kampung Kuala Sibuti yesterday.

He pointed out that if GPS lost, it would not only weaken Sarawak’s voice (at federal level), and the request for development would not be heard.

“If we are weak and divided, we will not have a voice and our MPs will be dismissed.

“What the rakyat here ask for will not be heard. Federal or state roads will not be taken care of because the MPs from Sarawak are divided and they are weak.”

As such, he reiterated that Sarawakians should fully support the GPS candidates so that they could achieve a comprehensive victory in GE15.
