KUCHING: The authorities concerned are urged to take stern actions against operators of illegal online gambling activities.
Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said that despite numerous raids conducted by the police on illegal online gambling outlets in the Matang area here, the activities seemed to be still in operation.
“The police have conducted numerous operations including raiding the illegal outlets and even cut off power supply to the premises yet the operators are still conducting the illegal activities,” he told reporters when met at his Hari Raya open house at Dewan Bahasa dan Pusataka (DBP) here, yesterday.
Hence, he urged the authorities concerned to take immediate action on the illegal operators.
“I also urge members of the public that if they come across the illegal activities to immediately lodge a report to enable the police to investigate.
“We must not be afraid of these people because they are a bad influence and destroyers of the society,” he pointed out.
