Be wary of unverified Covid-19 news

KUCHING: Any updates or information pertaining to Covid-19 will be issued by the State Disaster Management Committee.

Therefore, the committee’s secretariat seeks the cooperation of the public to not share unverified or fake news pertaining to Covid-19 through social messaging platforms, social media or print media.

Sarawak recorded its first Covid-19 cases involving three individuals yesterday. Two of three cases were individuals who attended the religious event in Sri Petaling recently.

Sarawak has also recorded its highest Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases in a single-day yesterday, recording 76 person — bringing the total to 338 PUIs in total.

Of the numbers, three had been confirmed positive, 240 negative, and 95 pending laboratory tests.

The pending cases are 59 at the Sarawak General Hospital, 18 in Miri, six in Mukah, five each in Bintulu and Lawas and two in Sibu.

As such, the committee has also issued updated guidelines to educate the public and prevent further spread of the disease.
