MIRI: Visiting Belgian Ambassador Pascal Gregoire is impressed with the numerous opportunities available in Sarawak which could be exploited to enhance ties between Sarawak and Belgium.

Pascal made this observation following a discussion during a courtesy call on Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin here, on Tuesday (Jan 24).

“Sarawak has many opportunities for business, university student exchange programme and so on. This is the right time to be here,” he said.

Pascal, who is on his third visit to the state, said his group in collaboration with the Sarawak Economic Planning Unit, Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce Belgium, and the European Chamber of Commerce had organised a webinar in Kuala Lumpur on Jan 7.

“Over 100 businessmen from Europe and a Belgian company based in Malaysia took part in the webinar to find out more about the state’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy.

“In addition, I believe that it is important to know more about transportation and the opportunities available through Belgian technology,” he said.
