Betong finalises Phase Two plans

KUCHING: The Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) has finalised its second phase of development projects.

BDDA chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah announced this after a two-day discussion here which concluded yesterday (Sept 22).

“We’ve agreed on the projects for the next phase. Detailed discussions on how they’ll be carried out also took place,” Uggah said during the event’s closing ceremony.

He emphasised the importance of timely completion and adhering to project specifications.

“We’ve chosen the right government departments and agencies to oversee these projects,” he added.

Present were Layar assemblyman Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, Betong MP Dr. Richard Rapu, Saribas assemblyman Mohd Razi Sitam, and other assemblymen such as Friday Belik (Krian), Mohamad Duri (Kalaka), Mohd Chee Kadir (Kabong), Razali Gapor (Beting Maro), and Lingga assemblywoman Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor.

Other attendees included Betong Resident Richard Micheal Abunawas, BDDA’s Special Administrative Officer Abang Mohamad Abang Trukey, Political Secretary to Premier Roseline Mapong, and various divisional government leaders.

Uggah hoped that once the BDDA projects are completed, they will provide business opportunities for the local community. He urged everyone to offer their full support and cooperation during this phase.
