BINTULU: Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming has urged the public to be more aware of the tactics deployed by scammers to avoid from getting deceived.

While pointing out that awareness on fraud needs to be intensified, he advised the victims or those who almost fall prey to the scammers to make a police report or contact the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC).

“If you have experienced being scammed, please share your knowledge and advices to your friends and family so that they are more vigilant,” he said during a charity screening of the film ‘No More Bets’ at Ashtar Galatic Cienema (AGC) Bintulu Commerce Square today.

Touching on the programme here, Pang commended its organisation as it is the best approach in helping to raise awareness among the community to always stay vigilant so that they are not easily caught up in cyber fraud tactics that are prevalent now.

Having said that, he advised the public not to easily share or disclose their personal information such as bank account numbers, identity cards and so on to unknown individuals.

For the record, the movie ‘No More Bet’ is inspired by a true story that is happening today where there are an increasing number of cyber fraud cases.

This film directed by Ao Shen focuses on two main characters, Pan Sheng who works as a programmer and Anna Liang, a model who had fallen victim to an international online fraud syndicate.
