KUCHING: The Borneo Highlands Residents Club (BHRC) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Borneo Highlands as a significant tourist destination, both locally and internationally, in line with its constitutional objectives.

During the one-year anniversary celebration held at the Borneo Highlands Resort Clubhouse, its chairman Lo Khere Chiang said that the success of the event as a testament to the resort’s appeal.

The Glamping Festival, a three-day and two-night event, attracted around 300 participants from diverse backgrounds, particularly young individuals from various walks of life.

“Conversations with attendees revealed that Borneo Highlands is an ideal location for glamping and camping due to its pleasant climate, clean air, safety, and scenic surroundings,” said Lo in a press release yesterday.

He said this during his welcoming speech at the festival, which took place last Thursday (June 1).

It is worth noting that the Glamping Festival was held in conjunction with BHRC’s first anniversary, in collaboration with Borneo Glamping.

Lo added, BHRC, which was officially registered with the Registrar of Societies one year ago, has a primary objective of protecting the rights and interests of residents and property owners.

“The Club plays a crucial role in fostering relationships between government agencies and the residents. Many individuals who purchased land but have yet to receive their titles from the now-defunct developer can benefit from BHRC’s collective support and access essential information to facilitate the land alienation process,” Lo said.

Interested individuals who are not currently members but have purchased land and wish to join the Club can contact the Secretary, Liew Nam Boon, at 019-8864126 or email: 2022bhrc@gmail.com.
