BINTULU: Upgrading work on the Bintulu Civic Centre has now been completed making it available for public use.

Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Phang said the centre could now be reopened for booking and rental as an activity site.

He said this would simultaneously generate funds for the maintenance of the centre.

“The upgrading undertaken through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) included infrastructure improvements as well as the addition of LED lights inside the building, on the footpaths, in the staircase area, and foyer.

“In addition, ceiling fans and wall fans were also installed around the closed hall and the main stage of the hall which is located on the first floor,” he was quoted as saying in a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).

Phang said this after inspecting and handing over the project to the management of the Bintulu Civic Centre here on yesterday.

He called on the management to intensify its promotional activities through various platforms.
