BINTULU:  Bintulu Hospital receives donation of red dates and calendar for iftar and imsak time schedules from Tanjong Batu assemblyman, Johnny Pang Leong Ming yesterday.

The donation was presented to Bintulu Hospital director, Dr Suzalinna Sulaiman.

Pang said the distribution of red dates has become a traditional programme through the Tanjong Batu State Assembly Service Center every year during Ramadan month.

He added that distributing red dates and breaking of fast calendar was a symbolic gesture representing his ways to maintain good relations with civil servants.

“This is an annual programme by this service center as a sign of respect for the diversity of races and religious differences, thus giving the meaning that we also care about them,” he said when met during the handing over of the donation.

The Tanjong Batu State Assembly Service Center had distributed 2,500 boxes and packets of Ahmad Tamar branded red dates to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK)  held at its Tanjong Batu service centre on March 7.
