Bintulu MP donates face masks, PPE to Sibu cops

SIBU: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing contributed 5,000 pieces of face mask and 200 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) to Sibu District Police Criminal Investigation Division on Monday (April 26).

A simple handover ceremony was attended by PDP Bawang Assan youth chief Joshua Ting Fu Ying, who representing Bintulu MP Tiong, at the Sibu Central Police Station.

Head of Sibu District Police Criminal Investigation Division, DSP Hadian Keria, received the contributions on behalf of Sibu District police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit.

“We would like to thank them (the police) for their efforts in the fight against Covid-19,” Ting said.

He added that it was not an easy task and that frontliners, especially the police, had sacrificed their time and energy as well as not having time for their own family.

Ting also urged Sibu folk to adhere to Covid-19 SOPs in order to prevent transmission.

“I know that the implementation has brought an impact on many businesses and the community, but I believe that we are capable of fighting this pandemic.

“I also hope that the authorities will firmly enforce the law.

“We must work together to fight the pandemic, by being disciplined and complying with SOPs so that Sibu can be like before.”
