Body of missing boy found in Sabang River

Rescuers retrieve the body from Sabang River today morning.

ASAJAYA: The body of an eight-year-old boy, who was feared to have drowned after he allegedly fell into Sabang River, was found today (Feb 23).

A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the public managed to find the body of the boy around 11.20 am about one metre from where he had allegedly fell.

The body was then retrieved and handed over to the police for transportation to the hospital.

Following the discovery, the team wrapped up the search operation and departed back to their offices.

On Wednesday (Feb 22), the boy identified as Mohamad Nudin Irfan Rahman, was said to be playing by the riverbank in Kampung Tambirat before he fell into the river.

Rescue agencies were quickly alerted for further search assistance.
