KUCHING: Two siblings who were trapped in their family’s farm in Nanga Sekulam, Betong, sought help from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) to get to their school’s hostel, after their daily route was cut off due to flooding.

It was believed that the two girls, from Kampung Mujan, students of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Nanga Entaban, had spent a night at a hut in the farm on Sunday.

Three personnel in a boat from Betong fire station were deployed to the farm after they received a call from the school’s senior assistant, Florida Lingoh at 9.46am yesterday.

It took them about two hours to reach the farm at Nanga Sekulam from Nanga Entaban.

It was understood that Florida contacted Bomba for assistance after she was informed by the girls’ mother that the two were unable to go to the hostel after their daily route to the school was inundated.
