Boy, 6, dies in fall from flat

MIRI: A six-year-old boy who was rushed to Miri Hospital after he fell from a window of their second-floor home in a government flat at Tanjong Lobang near here yesterday afternoon has succumbed to his injuries.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted yesterday confirmed that the boy was pronounced dead at Miri Hospital from injuries he sustained following the fall.

“No foul play was involved in the incident,” he said.

According to Lim, prior to the incident, the boy’s mother had gone to the kitchen to do some chores and preparing milk for the boy.

“The boy identified as Muhammad Razzan Madhani Abdul Hamid was in his room while the mother was in the kitchen. However, when the mother returned with the milk, the boy was missing.

“A window in the room was ajar so the mother immediately looked out from the window and to her horror saw her son lying motionless on the concrete ground floor,” Lim added.

The incident happened at 2.15pm.

The case is being classified as sudden death.
