IPOH: A man ended up in the lockup after his tantrums attracted police when the car he was driving got stuck at the end of a motorcycle bridge in Kuala Kurau yesterday.

Kerian police chief Supt Juna Yusoff said the station received information about a ruckus over a Perodua Myvi car driven by the suspect in his 50s at about 8.45 am.

“A patrol from Kuala Kurau police station was directed to the scene and found the car stuck at one end of the bridge built only for motorcycles and found the driver yelling at the public. Police tried to defuse the situation and sought information from the driver but he refused to cooperate and a struggle ensued until police arrested him,” he told reporters.

He said on interrogation and inspection, police found a plastic packet of suspected drugs on the self-employed driver.

He said the driver was duly arrested and taken to the Batu Kurau police station before a urine test at the Narcotics Division of Kerian police headquarters (IPD) found him positive for methamphetamine. – BERNAMA
