Deputy Premier datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas

SRI AMAN: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) sub-branches and branches state-wide should recruit more new members, said party deputy president Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

“When PBB is very strong, it can focus on its core business of contributing strongly to the state development and progress.

“Having more new members would give it the luxury to grow from strength to strength,” Uggah said at the joint triennial delegates meetings (TDM) of the Bukit Begunan and Engkilili PBB branches

“This is very critical as Sarawak aims to be a high income society by the year 2030 as envisaged by Sarawak Premier  Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg,” he added.

Uggah noted that they will be failing in their responsibility if they failed to recruit new members.

“When we have greater members we can remain relevant and strong. Then we can continue to be the backbone of the state government for many more years to come,”

said Uggah, adding that PBB could attract many new members as its president was none other than the Sarawak Premier himself.

He said many of its other leaders were ministers in the state and federal cabinets too.

As such it was in the position to help and Abang Johari himself was doing his best to deliver development projects to all nooks and corners of the state, Uggah said.

Meanwhile, he reminded members to remain steadfastly united in view of the many challenges expected to come their way.

He said the state now has moved towards the future with the many advancements in digital technology.

“Our detractors will use the Internet to post ill postings of our leaders, the state government and PBB.They will spread lies and wild accusations to run us down.

“But, if we continue to remain united, we will be strong as after all our great unity has always been our hallmark,” he said.
