KUCHING: Budget 2023 will be retabled in the Dewan Rakyat before the end of the year, said caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

A New Straits Times (NST) report said the next government will retable the 2023 Budget and the Election Commission (EC) will meet this Thursday to finalise details of the 15th General Election (GE15).

The annual federal budget was tabled on Oct 7, with a RM372.3 billion allocation, an increase of RM40.2 billion compared with the RM332.1 billion allocated for 2022.

A total of RM272.3 billion was allocated for operational expenditure, with the remaining RM95 billion for development.

Three days after the budget was tabled by Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Ismail Sabri announced the dissolution of the Dewan Rakyat, paving the way for the GE15.
