KUCHING: The collaboration between the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (TERAJU) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) will help boost the gula apong and kelulut honey market in the state.

TERAJU head of programme Zarifhadi Bujang said through the Dana Pembangunan Usahawan Bumiputera (DPUB) which has been approved this year, the programme will involve 16 locations throughout Sarawak.

“We will also work with parties from the Sarawak government agencies and other agencies throughout Malaysia, which include 16 locations all under collaboration with USM,” he was quoted as saying in a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).

He said this after paying a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol at his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Thursday (Feb 23).

On the same note, Community Network coordinator of USM Muhamad Nur Hazim said that the project will benefit the community in Sarawak, especially in the economic transition of the community from the B40 group to M40.
