KUCHING: Two burglars abandoned their motorcycle at Jalan Airport Road after being chased by police yesterday.
Detectives from Kuching were patrolling King Centre at about 1.30pm when they saw a man breaking into a car parked there.
One of the burglars had managed to open the car door and was inside the car when the police stopped their vehicle to check.
His accomplice, who was waiting on a motorcycle, shouted a warning and the man in the car got out, jumped on the motorcycle and both fled the scene.
The detectives called for backup when they saw the motorcycle riding towards the airport.
The chase ended at the flyover where both jumped off their motorcycle and disappeared into a lane there.
The motorcycle was brought back to the police station and a checked revealed that it was stolen at MJC on Wednesday night.
Police believe that the burglars are foreigners.
