Bush fire put out in 50 minutes

About three acres of land were burned in a bush fire at Canada Hill on Friday (Aug 6).

MIRI: About three acres of land at Canada Hill here were on fire this afternoon (Aug 6).

Five firemen from the town’s fire station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call around 1.35pm.

Upon arriving, the team found that the fire had ravaged three acres of land.

The fire was put out within 50 minutes using four fire extinguishers.

After making sure that the situation is safe, the team then returned to their station.
