KUCHING: BYD Auto Co Ltd, the global leader in new Electrical Vehicle (EV) manufacturing, has joined hands with Sime Darby Motors and local dealership Regas EV Auto Sdn Bhd to inaugurate their innovative mall-style showroom in CityOne Megamall on today (Oct 5)
The official launching ceremony was officiated by Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian; managing director of BYD Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Eagle Zhao; head of Sales Distribution, Sime Darby Beyond Auto, Calvin Sze Tho; and chairman of Regas EV Auto Sdn Bhd, David Tay.
“The launch of BYD’s new mall-concept showroom is a testament to the commitment of BYD to shape a sustainable and interconnected future for our urban spaces.
“The showroom not only showcases BYD’s impressive range of electric vehicles but also symbolises BYD’s dedication to reimagining the urban landscape.
“We recognise that this initiative aligns perfectly with Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to foster a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society,” Dr Sim said in his officiating speech.
Meanwhile, Zhao noted that with the inauguration of East Malaysia’s showroom in Kuching, BYD has taken significant strides towards realising their objective of ensuring widespread access to their products and technology.
“Through our industry-leading technology in EVs, we aim to redefine transportation in this region, reducing emissions and advancing sustainability. We look forward to more people in East Malaysia experiencing BYD,” he added.
Additionally, Sze emphasised their strong belief that providing easy access to the EV experience is just as vital as they expand into new markets.
“We are excited about the launch of this new showroom and its significance for the people of Kuching. We invite everyone to explore this innovative mall-concept showroom, which we believe offers a unique and immersive retail experience,” he said.
The showroom welcomes shoppers from 10am to 10pm, conveniently situated on the ground floor of the shopping mall.
