KUCHING: Sarawakian youth must be innovative to be able to compete at the international level, said Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.

He suggested Sarawakian youth improve their innovation skills by participating in various programmes.

“We hope our youth will improve their innovativeness because the future of the state and the country lies in their hands.”

Fazzrudin said this when asked by the media to comment on youth development in conjunction with the state-level Youth Day celebration.

He was interviewed during the presentation of donations at Masjid At-Taqwa Kampung Pinang Jawa here in Petra Jaya on Sunday (Dec 6).

Fazzrudin pointed out that mosques also played an important role in instilling proper moral and religious values in Muslim youth.

He said they should organise creative and interesting activities to attract more young Muslims to congregate at their premises.

“I have seen mosques organising sports and volunteering activities,” he added.
