KUALA LUMPUR: The non-governmental organisation, Kelab Sahabat N87, today filed a police report to investigate and to urge the government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to study the country’s financial position under the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

Kelab Sahabat N87 Malaysia exco Shahbudin Embun said the report was made following a statement made by Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz who said the country’s financial position was strong.

“This contradicts the statement made (by the PH government) that the government’s financial position is very critical,” Shahbudin told reporters after making a report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters here, today.

He said two individuals, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and former finance minister Lim Guan Eng were also mentioned in the report urging police to conduct a detailed investigation into the country’s financial position during the PH government.

Meanwhile, Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah when contacted confirmed receiving a report on the matter. – Bernama
