MIRI: The Office of Research and Development at Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) is inviting interested and qualified applicants for its Curtin Malaysia Postgraduate Research Scheme (CMPRS).
A total of RM1.93 million has been allocated for the scheme, which is mainly for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students and includes a three-year tuition fee waiver and monthly stipend of RM2,100.
In addition, candidates are also provided with funding for consumables and attending conferences.
According to the Chair of Curtin Malaysia’s Graduate Studies Committee, associate professor Dr Goi Chai Lee, Curtin Malaysia is focusing on three main areas of research, namely bio-processing, digital innovation and rural entrepreneurship.
These areas of research are in line with the National Priority Areas (NPA) and Sarawak’s development thrusts.
All studies will be conducted under the supervision of experienced supervisors at Curtin Malaysia’s Faculty of Engineering and Science, Faculty of Business and Faculty of Humanities.
“We encourage interested applicants, especially Sarawakians, to apply for this scheme,” Goi said, adding that qualified higher degree students from Sarawak and elsewhere will be given the opportunity to be appointed as tutors and train the next generation of talent.
