MIRI: A 30-year-old man and his mother almost drowned after a car they were travelling in skidded and turned turtle in the trench at Jalan Kuala Baram here, yesterday afternoon.
In the 5pm incident, both victims were believed to be on their way from Batu Satu heading to Kuala Baram.
An eye-witness said the car completely turned turtle in the water with all the four tyres up.
“The incident caused them to be trapped inside the car for about 10 minutes before being rescued by members of the public.
“On being carried out to safety, both of them were in very weak condition. They were almost drowned,” he said.
He said the victims were then taken to Miri Hospital for further treatment in an ambulance.
