KUALA LUMPUR: The 2019 Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference in China was held recently at the Baiyun International Convention Center, with Cedar Holdings board chairman, King Cheung delivering a keynote speech.

The annual meeting focused on the new actions and responsibilities of Guangzhou in the new era to continuously release attractiveness of the Greater Bay Area to the world.

Cheung’s speech was themed ‘Capturing the historical opportunities of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to promote the high-quality development of the modern supply chain industry’.

He shared the stories of the growth of Cedar Holdings, along with the development of Guangzhou city.

At present, under the development idea of taking root in Guangzhou and expanding worldwide, the company has established branches in more than 10 major commodity countries and regions.

Guangzhou created Cedar Holdings, the Fortune Global 500, and will surely create more Fortune Global 500 companies in the future.

Cheung believed the current global commodity market showed three major trends, namely global trade focus shifts from commodities to services; slowing down of growth rate of global trade value; and, modern supply chain status in the global trading system having become more important.
