KUCHING: It is likely that See Chee How will be joining the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) after the dissolution of the state assembly term.

While not ruling out the possibility of joining the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component party, the Batu Lintang assemblyman opted to remain partyless until the end of the term.

“I could not join SUPP nor any party until the end of the term. But it is still a long time before it happens. After that (the dissolution), we will see,” he said.

He said this when met by the media during the state government’s Chinese New Year Open House at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today.

See said he is open to working with everyone, adding that the state government has always supported the programmes held in his Batu Lintang constituency.

“I am very grateful for them and it can be seen that the support given is due to us having the same target which is to serve the people as best as we can,” he said.

Meanwhile, on the open house programme, See commended the initiative to celebrate the Chinese New Year at the state-level, adding that it is a good opportunity for all Sarawakians to gather.

“This is a good opportunity and function for everyone here. This is because it’s not talking about the party but it is a state celebration and I think this is fantastic,” he said.

See, formerly of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), defended his Batu Lintang seat in the 2021 Sarawak State Election under the Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) banner. He left the party in Aug 2022.
