Chemistry Dept’s Catalyst 3.0 bag creativity and innovation top prize

KUCHING: Catalyst 3.0 from Department of Chemistry, Sarawak emerged as champions in the Innovative and Creative Group Convention (KIK) after beating 16 other groups from the federal departments and agencies in Sarawak.

The champions, who presented their Eze 3.0 project, were given a cash prize of RM2,000, a trophy and a certificate.

Meanwhile, Labour Ultra from the Labour Department, Sarawak grabbed the second place with their ‘Pengurusan Kes Buruh yg Kurang Sistematik’ project, bringing home RM1,000, a trophy and a certificate.

The third place was won by Set 3 from the Saratok Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) with their project ‘Tangga Penyelamat Serbaguna’. They received RM750, a trophy and a certificate.

Also participating were Malaysian Prisons Department (Miri Central Prison), Betong Metro Polytechnic, Kanowit Bomba, Mara Bintulu Skills Institute, SJKC Yuk Kung Julau, Sarawak Health Department, Kuching Polytechnic, Sibu KKM Nursing Training Institute, Sarawak Accountant Department, Aminuddin Baki Institute, Royal Malaysian Police, Royal Malaysian Customs, Education Office Julau and Education Office Miri.

The convention was held for the first time as one of the efforts to continue to nurture the culture of creativity and innovation in the federal civil service in Sarawak.
