UCHING: An unemployed man was detained by police for sexually abusing two minors on 26 July.

Sarawak CID chief, SAC Dato’ Dev Kumar Sree Shunmugam said the ordeal came to light while the victims’ mother was changing her one-year-old daughter’s diaper when she saw bruises on her private part.

While she was informing her husband on the matter, their 5-year-old daughter told them that a man had kissed her on her lips and inserted his fingers in her private part at their house in Kampung Tambirat, Asajaya, last Wednesday.

Dev Kumar said the victims’ father, 42, lodged a police report on the incident last Saturday. Both victims were sent to the Sarawak General Hospital for medical checkup.

He said the 22-year-old was picked up by the Samarahan CID team, led by Inspector Affendi Otoh, at a house located near the victims’ house and initial investigation revealed that he was the victims’ distant relative.
