KUCHING: The festive spirit graced Satok constituency in advance as its residents were treated to Christmas cookies courtesy of their assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki.

Organised by Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Satok Branch at Thompson Corner and Sing Wah Yuen Cafe, 200 packets of Christmas cookies and greeting cards were distributed to attendees during a breakfast gathering, an initiative that Ibrahim praised for fostering stronger connections between leaders and the community.

“This meet and greet ahead of big festivities has become a tradition in Satok constituency. With Sarawak being a multiracial state, we can see our uniqueness here as people from different races and religions live in harmony.

“With that I would like to wish Merry Christmas to those who are celebrating and Happy New Year to everyone! May we all live in happiness, good health, and prosperity,” he said when met by the media during the programme here today (Dec 16).

Addressing the concerning surge in COVID-19 cases, Ibrahim urged vigilance, advising everyone to prioritise their well-being.

“With the virus making its comeback, I would like to advise everyone to take care of themselves and to wear a face mask.

“And if you were to have COVID-19 symptoms, it is best to see a doctor to get yourself treated because we do not know what will happen as the virus is rapidly spreading,” he said.
