KUCHING: The highly anticipated first Kota Sentosa Christmas Parade 2023 is set to take place this Sunday (Dec 10) at Dewan Perniagaan Mile 7.

The event, hosted by the Sarawak Evangelical Christian Association (SECA), will see participation from 14 churches in the Kota Sentosa, Kuching, and Kota Samarahan areas.

“The goal of the parade is to foster peace, love, and harmony among Sarawakians. The highlight will be a Christmas-themed car parade. We welcome everyone to join as it is a free event,” said SECA chairman, Pastor Greman Ujang during press conference at Christ Baptist Church today (Dec 8).

The parade route spans 3 kilometres, beginning at Dewan Perniagaan Batu 7 at 6 pm.

Greman highlighted the event’s unique feature: prayers in Malay, English, Chinese, and Iban, focusing on the welfare of the local communities. He expects around 1,000 participants, with numbers possibly increasing due to the enthusiastic response.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin, Padawan Municipal Council (PMC) chairman Tan Kai and UNIFOR director Datuk Jack Aman Lumat will be attending.
