KUCHING: The Anglican Church and Borneo Evangelical Mission Samarahan Branch will jointly host a Christmas service at St Francis Church Samarahan on Dec 16 at 7 pm.

Chairman of the Association of Churches in Sarawak Pastor Ambrose Liap said an estimated 700-800 Christian congregants from across Samarahan are anticipated to participate in the service.

He said the service will also serve as a platform for devotees to gather together and enhance their faith.

“It also makes Christians aware that celebrating Christmas is not just a season, but we are reason,” he said in a statement today.

Fr. Felix Au is scheduled to deliver a sermon centred on the theme ‘The Promised One’, derived from the Gospel of Matthew 1:1-18.

The Association of Churches in Sarawak Samarahan Branch (ACSSB) comprises six churches affiliated with the Association of Churches in Sarawak, alongside several independent churches under the auspices of ACSSB.

ACSSB in the same statement thanked Farley Samarahan and TopMart Samarahan for their generous sponsorships in the form of snacks.
